CHP first logged the incident when the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at about 9:14 p.m. The accident occurred on the eastbound 91 Freeway at Madison Street off-ramp.
As per the report, fire department officials along with the paramedics responded and found the victim down in the off-ramp lanes. The patient was then transported to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment.
The name and condition of the wounded party at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and took off east on the freeway. The suspect car was described as a maroon 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe with right front side damage.
It was not immediately specified in the dispatch if the hit-and-run motorist was located and arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
