Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Dillard Road is Identified
WILTON, Calif. (August 24, 2021) — Robert Edward Badal, 69, of Sacramento, died in a collision with a pickup truck Sunday morning on Dillard Road, just west of Riley Road in Sacramento County.
The Sacramento man was riding a 2016 Indian motorcycle eastbound on Dillard Road about 11:40 a.m. Meanwhile, a 34-year-old Lincoln man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck and had come to a stop due to traffic up ahead, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Robert Badal was reportedly straddling the center line in the middle of the roadway when the pickup truck driver made a U-turn in front of the oncoming motorcycle, the Sacramento Bee reports. The bike slammed into the left-hand side of the pickup truck. Robert Badal suffered major injuries and arriving paramedics confirmed his death at the scene.
Also, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Robert Edward Badal on its website.
Meanwhile, police questioned the driver of the pickup truck at the scene of the deadly crash.
Finally, the cause of the crash and liability remains under investigation.
