Robert Bronk, 56, Killed in Bicycle Crash at El Cajon Boulevard and Lexington Avenue
EL CAJON, CA (April 29, 2021) – A bicycle accident killed Robert Bronk at El Cajon Boulevard and Lexington Avenue.
The county Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 56-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which occurred on Sunday.
The incident happened on April 18 when Robert Bronk was riding a bicycle in El Cajon. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and West Lexington Avenue.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle in El Cajon
Police reported the crash shortly after 10 a.m. The San Diego Union-Tribune wrote that the bicyclist ended up suffering from critical injuries as a result of the accident.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They rushed Robert Bronk to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego with traumatic head injuries.
Police confirmed that Bronk, a transient living in El Cajon, died on April 23. Meanwhile, officers did not mention if the driver involved stopped after hitting the bicycle rider.
The cause of the tragic crash is still under investigation.
