Robert Castro Jr. Identified as Teen Killed in Adelanto Crash on Rancho Road

ADELANTO, Calif. (June 8, 2026) — Robert Castro Jr., 16, of Victorville, died early Sunday when a Dodge Charger sedan packed with teens that he was riding in crashed at Rancho Road in Adelanto.
The deadly collision occurred around 2:37 a.m. on June 7th, according to the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station. The family of the teen is grieving his loss and planning a “farewell that honors him,” according to the teen’s GoFundMe page.
The driver of a 2013 Dodge Charger was eastbound on Rancho Road and driving at “excessive speed” before losing control and crashing at the intersection.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department and American Medical Response sent emergency crews to the scene where the located the overturned car on its side. One of the occupants, a 16-year-old boy, was ejected in the collision and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, six other occupants were taken to the hospital for various injuries.
Authorities noted the Dodge Charger has seating for just five occupants.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Regional Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is handling the investigation.
