Robert Craig, 82, Seriously Injured in Calistoga Crash at Highway 128 and Tubbs Lane

CALISTOGA, CA (June 13, 2022) – Robert Craig was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash at Highway 128 and Tubbs Lane in Calistoga.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 82-year-old Santa Rosa man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Monday morning.

The incident happened when Robert Craig was riding his 2020 Yamaha motorcycle west on Highway 128 in Calistoga. At the same time, a 2020 Dodge van was going south on Tubbs Lane.

CHP said the driver of the van, 60-year-old John Bell, stopped at the intersection with Highway 128. The Novato man then started to make a left turn from Tubbs onto eastbound Highway 128.

Motorcycle and Van Collide

The motorcyclist tried to avoid collision but in the process, crashed into the vehicle. The Napa Valley Register wrote that the accident occurred at about 9:45 a.m.

Robert Craig ended up thrown from his motorcycle onto the ground as a result of the crash. He sustained major injuries following the wreck.

Paramedics soon took the rider to the Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, CHP added that John Bell did not sustain any wound from the incident.

Officers forced the area of Highway 128 and Tubbs Lane to shut down for a time after the accident. The cause of the Calistoga crash is still under investigation.
