Oroville Man, 37, Killed in Hit-and-run Crash
OROVILLE, Calif. (July 11, 2022) — Robert Danforth, 37, of Oroville, is identified as the person who died in a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning in Oroville.
The collision occurred about 4 a.m. on July 5th, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office and Action News Now.
A motorist driving a large SUV or pickup truck reportedly struck the victim at the Garden Drive off-ramp leading from the northbound Highway 70.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision on the freeway off ramp.
Authorities are searching for the suspect’s vehicle described as an older-model Ford Excursion SUV or possibly, a Ford Super Duty pickup truck.
Investigators continue to work on the case and search for the motorist who allegedly fled the scene.
