Man Struck and Killed in Hit-and-run Crash on Fair Oaks Boulevard
CARMICHAEL, Calif. (June 28, 2022) — Robert E Lee Jenson, 40, of Pioneer, died June 20th in a pedestrian accident at Fair Oaks Boulevard and El Camino Avenue.
The fatal collision occurred around 9:10 p.m. at the Carmichael intersection, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.
The driver struck the victim as he walked along Fair Oaks Boulevard in one of the northbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A witness reportedly stayed with the victim in his final moments and protected him from traffic until first responders arrived at the scene.
The Pioneer man suffered major injuries and died at the crash scene.
Meanwhile, the motorist involved fled the scene without stopping to help Robert E. Lee Jenson. The witness told CHP investigators the vehicle is possibly a late model, 2-door, white or light colored Honda Civic. The vehicle may have damage on its driver’s side. Police are also looking at video surveillance footage.
“I will not stop until we find out who did this,” said Adriana M Jenson, the victim’s wife. “I get that accidents happen, but I don’t understand why someone would flee upon injuring someone or taking their life.”
Robert Lee is survived by his wife and his mother.
Investigators continue to work on the case.
