
Man, 95, Suffers Fatal Injuries Following Crash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 16, 2023) — Robert Sherman George, 95, of San Diego, died Monday more than a week after a two-vehicle crash on Camino Del Rio North in Grantville, San Diego County.
The head-on collision occurred about 11:20 a.m. on March 2nd, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The San Diego man was driving a 1988 Toyota pickup truck westbound in a two-way turn lane on Camino Del Rio North in San Diego, according to the report.
Meanwhile, a 77-year-old woman driving a 2019 Honda sports utility vehicle was heading eastbound in the same turn lane, the San Diego Union Tribune reported. The two vehicles collided and both motorists suffered injuries in the crash.
Paramedics and San Diego police responded and Robert George was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he later died at 4:16 p.m. on March 13th, the coroner said. The elderly woman from the Honda had complaints of chest pain, but it’s unknown if she was seen at the hospital or not.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the San Diego crash.
