VICTORVILLE, California (June 17, 2016) –Motorcycle rider Robert Russell Macfarlane, 61, of Victorville died in a collision with an SUV at the intersection of Palmdale Road and Del Gado Road, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner Department.
The crash took place about 10:35 a.m. Thursday morning. Police say the driver of a a maroon Ford Expedition made a left-hand turn in front of Macfarlane’s blue bike and the two vehicles collided. The motorcycle was destroyed in the crash with its front wheel completely sheared off and the SUV had major front-end damage.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded with paramedics with the San Bernardino County Fire Department who tried to help Macfarlane, but he died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to determine liability.
