
Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 246
Santa Ynez, CA (May 6, 2023) – Robert Miller, a 69-year-old Solvang resident, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on State Route Highway 246.
According to Noozhawk News, Miller attempted to make his way across the freeway just west of Casino Drive. While in the middle of the roadway, a passing 2011 Ford F-250 pickup struck the man. Officials said the collision took place later Thursday night.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Santa Ynez
The force from the impact resulted in life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the victim, then transferred him to Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital. Sadly, the patient succumbed to his injuries and died about an hour later. The California Highway Patrol group later identified the deceased as Robert Miller.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Highway 246 in Santa Ynez.
