Robert Ochoa, 25, Injured in Delano Crash at Driver Road and 9th Avenue
DELANO, CA (November 18, 2022) – A fatal crash at Driver Road and 9th Avenue left Robert Ochoa injured in Delano.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 25-year-old man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Robert Ochoa was driving a 2015 International truck south on Driver Road, approaching 9th Avenue, in Delano
At the same time, a Honda Ridgeline was going east on 9th Avenue. CHP said for an unknown reason, the car ran a stop sign at the intersection.
Allen Avalos, 20, Killed in Wreck
The pickup truck then slammed into the right side of the box truck. Both vehicles obtained major damage as a result of the collision.
The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident occurred on November 17 at around 5 a.m. Robert Ochoa sustained minor injuries following the crash.
Paramedics rushed him to the Adventist Health in Delano for treatment. The driver of the Honda, 20-year-old Delano resident Allen Jesus Valdez Avalos, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Driver Road and 9th Avenue to shut down for a time after the wreck. The cause of the Delano crash is still under investigation.
