Pala Man, 45, Struck and Killed on State Route 74
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (July 17, 2023) — Robert Ozuna, 45, of Pala, died in a pedestrian accident Friday night in the westbound lanes of Highway 74, roughly 230 feet west of Truelson Avenue in Hemet.
The auto versus pedestrian accident occurred around 8:48 a.m. on July 14th, in the San Gorgonio Pass area, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Several vehicles stopped to help the victim who went down in the roadway. Someone called 911 to report the crash and alert paramedics.
CAL Fire responded with police to the scene, but sadly Robert Ozuna died at the scene at 9:01 p.m., the coroner report said.
A tow truck removed the damaged vehicle for evidence and traffic was diverted from the area due to the emergency vehicles and police investigation.
Finally, the investigation is underway by the California Highway Patrol – San Gorgonio Station.
