Oakdale Woman Arrested on DUI Charges After Head-on Crash in Modesto
MODESTO, Calif. (August 1, 2018) — Robert Steele, 66, of Modesto and Rhiana Beasley, 24, of Oakdale, were among four injured in a head-on crash Monday night at Highway 108 (Patterson Road) and Skittone Road near Riverbank, according to a report by the Modesto Bee.
The crash took place about 6:25 p.m. when police say Beasley was traveling with two children eastbound on Highway 108 in a 2013 Chrysler. Police reported that she allowed her vehicle to cross over into the westbound lanes where she crashed head-on into Steele’s 1996 Jeep.
Steele was unable to avoid the collision and the two vehicles collided. Paramedics responded and transported Steele sought his own medical care, but paramedics took Beasley and two children ages 3 and 6 years old by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center. The 6-year-old, Steele and Beasley all suffered major injuries in the crash, but the 3-year-old had minor injuries.
Police believe that alcohol was a factor in the collision and they arrested Beasley on DUI charges.
