RICHMOND, Calif. (October 29, 2019) – Robert Taylor, 58, Whitney Pearl, 30, and Jose Torres Jr. 30, all died early Monday morning in a car accident with an Amtrak train in Richmond.

The Richmond residents were in a vehicle crossing the train tracks at Brookside Drive and Giant Road, according to KTLA 5 News. The vehicle was struck about 12:08 a.m. by a long-distance Amtrak train at the railroad crossing.

The two men and a woman were killed in the crash, but it’s unknown who was driving the vehicle.

There were no injuries reported aboard the train and the railroad track signals appeared to be in working condition.

The train accident remains under investigation to determine what led to the crash and liability.
