Coachella Man, 37, Struck and Killed at Intersection

COACHELLA, Calif. (July 31, 2024) — Robert Villa, 37, of Coachella, was killed in a pedestrian accident Tuesday night at Grapefruit Boulevard near Gateway Center and Cesar Chavez Street in Coachella.

The traffic accident occurred around 10:40 P.M. at the Coachella intersection due to unknown circumstances, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.

A driver reportedly struck Robert Villa in the roadway and then stopped and called 911 for help.

Authorities closed down the westbound lanes from Gateway Center to Avenue 49 so that sheriff’s deputies could conduct an investigation.
