Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Standing Rock Avenue is Identified
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (May 28, 2024) — Robert Witt, 68, of Apple Valley, died in a motorcycle accident Saturday morning on Standing Rock Avenue in Apple Valley.
The traffic accident occurred at around 10:27 a.m. on Saturday, May 25th, according to the Victor Valley News Group.
Police and paramedics from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and Apple Valley Fire Department responded to the crash scene at Standing Rock Avenue and Blackfoot Road.
Robert Witt was reportedly riding a black 2011 Harley Davidson Road Glide. He was heading westbound on Standing Rock Avenue when he crashed into the side of a white 2017 Honda Civic driven by Jennifer Garcia, 51, of Apple Valley.
The Honda was heading northbound on Pine Ridge Avenue and was crossing Standing Rock Avenue when the crash occurred. There is a stop sign for motorists on Pine Ridge Avenue, but not for vehicles traveling on Standing Rock Avenue.
Unfortunately, the motorcyclist suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, Jennifer Garcia stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
Finally, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) responded and conducted an investigation into liability for the motorcycle versus accident.
