Suspect Flees After Man Killed in Hit-and-run Crash at Pasadena Intersection
PASADENA, Calif. (May 27, 2018) —Robert Michael Ybarra, 34, has been arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run after he crashed into another vehicle early Sunday morning and left a man dead at Colorado and Sierra Madre boulevards, according to a report by KTLA News.
The two motorists collided about st 2 a.m. After the collision, the driver of a black Honda Accord was trapped in his vehicle suffering from major injuries. He was extricated by firefighters and died at the scene of the crash.
Ybarra fled the scene without stopping to help the victim. By the time police arrived he was gone.
Bystanders at the scene checked to make sure the suspect was okay and then they were distracted just before he took off.
Police immediately began piecing together evidence at the scene in an attempt to locate the suspect. By 1 p.m., police located Ybarra at a residence in Alhambra and arrested him. Police are also investigating this crash as a possible DUI.

Fatal Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine fault. At this time, we do not know where the suspect is and police may need the public’s help to find him. Hopefully there are also witnesses who can help authorities piece together the sequence of events that led to the crash.
