Man, 43, Killed; Woman, 73, Critical Following Pacoima Crash
PACOIMA, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2019) – Robert Zapat, 43, of Sylmar, was killed and a woman was injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on San Fernando Road in Pacoima, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The collision took place about 8:30 a.m. in the 10100 block of North San Fernando Road. The man was driving a vehicle that went through a
fence onto the Whiteman Airport property. He was trapped in the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a 73-year-old woman whose vehicle was involved, ended up on Metrolink tracks, he said. Authorities temporarily suspended all train service along the Antelope Valley line until her vehicle could be pushed off the tracks.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Humphrey said.
