Man Killed, Rocky Robins Injured in Highway 96 Car Crash
LOCATION: Humboldt County
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Friday, October 5th
October 6, 2018 – A fatal traffic collision occurred on Highway 96 Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol group.
Primary reports indicated a vehicle went over a cliff along the highway sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.
During the crash, 17-yer-old passenger Rocky Robins, of Willow Creek, was ejected and reportedly made his way up on the part of Highway 96 near the Humboldt and Siskiyou County line.
Deadly Car Accident Friday in Humboldt County
Shortly after authorities were notified of the incident, Humboldt CHP Officers responded at the location and found a deceased male just outside of the vehicle. The identity of the fatality remained undisclosed pending notification of next of kin.
It was not immediate clear if the deceased was the driver.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned Robins suffered injuries of unknown extent as a result of the crash.
The exact circumstances that led to the deadly accident are still being investigated.
