Victim Killed in New Year’s Eve Crash in South Gate Identified
SOUTH GATE, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2019) — Rodney Morris, 63, died in a collision on New Year’s Eve at Garfield Avenue and Garfield Place, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner.
The crash was reported at 6:15 p.m. between two vehicles. Paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured, but unfortunately Mr. Morris died of his injuries in his vehicle.
Police are investigating.

Police are piecing together what caused this collision to determine fault.
At this time, police will speak to any witnesses to learn what happened. It’s unknown if a mechanical malfunction, dangerous driving or speed were factors in the collision.
