Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash Lancaster Boulevard
LANCASTER, Calif. (August 6, 2018) – Rodney Richard Jr., 22, of Lancaster, was standing in the street talking to people in a parked vehicle when he was struck and killed early this morning by a hit-and- run motorist on Lancaster Boulevard near Elm Street.
The crash took place about 2 a.m. the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
The man was reportedly standing in the street talking to people next to a black sedan that was parked on the south curb.
An oncoming full-sized white pickup truck heading eastbound on Lancaster Boulevard struck and killed the victim. The pickup was reportedly speeding at least 15 miles-per-hour over the speed limit.
The suspect driver initially stopped, but then sped away toward Sierra Highway. Paramedics rushed the badly injured man to an area hospital, but sadly he died of his injuries.

At this time, police are searching for the suspect driver who killed this innocent man.
