Bertha Nunez, 75, Killed; Suspect Turns Himself in to Authorities

 Rodolfo Diaz Perez Arrested Norwalk Hit-and-run Crash Pioneer and Firestone Boulevards NORWALK, Calif. (August 13, 2021) – Rodolfo Diaz Perez, 47, of Menifee, was arrested Thursday on felony hit-and-run charges after he fled the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident Sunday at Pioneer and Firestone boulevards.

Authorities released the driver later that night at 8:55 p.m. after he posted a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear before a judge at the Bellflower Courthouse at 8:30 a.m. on August 16, according to booking records.

Bertha Nunez, 75, of Norwalk, died in the hit-and-run pedestrian accident, according to the KTLA News and My News LA.

The deadly crash happened around 8:15 a.m. Sunday, August 8th near Pioneer and Firestone boulevards, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision, nor why Rodolfo Diaz Perez chose to flee.
