Man, 36,, Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 138
PHELAN, Calif. (March 22, 2023) — Rodolfo Mayorga, 36, of La Puente, died Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 138, just west of Lone Pine Canyon Road in the Phelan area.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner identified the man as the victim who died in the crash on its website.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 8:07 a.m. on March 21st, just west of Cajon Junction, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a woman became trapped in a truck and a Rodolfo Mayorga was ejected from his pickup and found unresponsive in the roadway. The vehicles involved were a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a gray Dodge Ram were involved. The white truck had major front-end damage and wound up in a ditch. Meanwhile, the gray pickup also had major front-end damage and was blocking the westbound lanes of Highway 138.
Paramedics responded to help those involved, but the man in the roadway died on scene.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 138 in the area near Phelan and Cajon.
Finally, two tow trucks responded to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
