Marinus Lubers Killed Modesto DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Yosemite Boulevard
MODESTO (June 3, 2018) – The alleged DUI hit-and-run driver who killed another motorist along Yosemite Boulevard early Saturday has been arrested, according The Modesto Bee.
California Highway Patrol identified the suspect 27-year-old Rodrigo Joel Mendoza, of Waterford.
As per the article, CHP said Mendoza was driving a Mercedes sedan at unsafe speed when he hit the back of a 1953 Chevy truck. The pickup was traveling east on Yosemite Boulevard at the time.

The Chevy rolled over, and its driver was ejected in the process. The victim, 45-year-old Oakdale resident Marinus Lubbers, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, Mendoza did not stop to render aid and fled. Alcohol containers were found inside his Mercedes.
CHP affirmed that Mendoza was tracked down in Waterford and then taken into custody. He was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on charges of murder, driving under the influence, hit and run, and driving with a suspended license.
