Man Dies at Hospital After Crash Near Burdick Way
San Jose, CA (April 21, 2022) – Rogelio Lara, a 74-year-old man, passed away several days following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Quimby Road.
On April 7, a 2014 Hyundai sedan struck Lara in the area near Burdick Way in East San Jose. The East Bay Times published an article online reporting the horrible crash took place shortly before 3 p.m.
Responding emergency crews found the pedestrian lying on the ground. Due to the severity of the injuries of the victim, paramedics transported him to a local hospital for further treatment. On April 17, Rogelio Lara sadly succumbed to his injuries and died.
Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian attempted to cross onto the north side of Quimby Road when the catastrophic incident took place. The Hyundai involved in the collision was heading east on Quimby Road at the time. Officials mentioned there were no marked crosswalks at any point on the half-mile stretch of Quimby Road; between East Capitol Expressway and South White Road.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate liability in the deadly pedestrian accident in San Jose.
