Rogelio Martinez-Cuin Suspect in Hit-and-Run Crash at Westridge and Woods Canyon Drive
Orange, CA (December 3, 2020) – On December 17, Rogelio Martinez-Cuin will be sentenced in relation to a fatal traffic collision that occurred in the area of Westridge and Woods Canyon drives.
The Orange County Register reported Martinez-Cuin was driving a Volvo on January 30, 2019. When the driver approached the intersection at Westridge and Woods Canyon, he struck a 51-year-old bicycle rider.
Bicyclist Killed in Orange County Traffic Accident
Our sources confirmed the bicyclist, 51-year-old Michael David Tomlinson, sadly died as a result of the crash.
Authorities mentioned the driver of the volvo, later identified as Martinez-Cuin, fled the scene following the collision. First responders found the vehicle about a mile away. Subsequently, deputies arrested Martinez-Cuin.
According to courts records, Martinez-Cuin admitted one count each of gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury, both felonies. Furthermore, Martinez-Cuin also admitted misdemeanor count of driving on a suspended or revoked license due to a DUI.
