Pedestrian, 53, Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Highway 20 Monday
Willits, CA (January 11, 2022) – Roger Eric Knoblock, a 53-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Highway 101 Monday evening.
The Ukiah Daily Journal News reported the victim was wearing dark clothes, and walking southbound along the westbound lanes of SR-101. In the area near Highway 20, an oncoming 2013 Subaru failed to avoid and struck the pedestrian.

Due to the force from the impact, the male party was thrown onto the embankment. Medical personnel arrived at the site shortly after 6:40 p.m. and immediately rendered aid to the victim. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Officers later confirmed the identity of the deceased as 53-year-old Roger Eric Knoblock. Authorities mentioned Knoblock apparently lived in Mendocino County in a transient status at the time of his death.
Meanwhile, the driver reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives continue to work to determine liability in the deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 101.
