Woman Faces Vehicle Manslaughter Charges for Head-on Fatal Crash
RIALTO, Calif. (June 26, 2024) — Roger Norris, 59, of La Verne, died earlier this month in a head-on motorcycle accident on West Valley Boulevard in Rialto.
It happened at around 5:32 p.m. on June 9th between the victim’s motorcycle and a Toyota Highlander SUV driven by Monica Granger, 48, of Riverside.
The Riverside woman was traveling westbound in her SUV when she crossed the painted median into the path of the oncoming eastbound motorcyclist. The two vehicles collided head-on in the 200 block of West Valley Boulevard between Willow Avenue and Riverside Avenue, the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner reports.
Roger Norris suffered major injuries and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Sadly, he died roughly 30 minutes later at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police arrested the female driver and charged her with one felony count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, police said.
She was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
Finally, police are investigating the crash, but they do not suspect alcohol and drugs were factors in the collision.
