Bicycle Rider Killed in Crash at Fresno Intersection
FRESNO, Calif. (June 28, 2022) – Rohit Singh, 23, of Fresno, is identified as the bicycle rider struck and killed by an SUV last Thursday night at Shaw and Hayes avenues in Fresno.
The deadly crash occurred just before 9 p.m. at the Fresno intersection, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Responding police located the injured Fresno man in the roadway and attempted life-saving measures, but sadly Rohit Singh died on scene.
Deadly Crash at Fresno Intersection
Police say the driver in the SUV was traveling eastbound on Shaw Avenue near the intersection with Hayes Avenue.
Meanwhile, the young man riding the bicycle was approaching a stop sign while traveling on Hayes. The driver told police the bicyclist attempted to stop, but continued through the intersection. The SUV struck him as it traveled along Shaw Avenue.
The motorist, who had children with them in the SUV, stopped and is cooperating with the police investigation
Police do not suspect alcohol and drugs are factors, but the investigation is ongoing.
