RolandoEnrique Alvarenga Aguilar, 45, ID’d as Suspect in Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash
FRESNO, CA (October 9, 2021) – Authorities arrested Rolando Alvarenga Aguilar after a hit-and-run crash involving a taco truck in Fresno.
Police believed that the 45-year-old man was under the influence when he crashed into the food truck on Saturday evening.
The incident began when Rolando Enrique Alvarenga Aguilar was driving a van in the area of Maple and Belmont avenues in Fresno.
He then accelerated and plowed into a Tacos El Bello food truck which was parked near the intersection at the time. His vehicle struck a man in his 50s eating at a table near the business.
The victim sustained significant head trauma as a result of the collision. Paramedics took him to the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Car Crashes Into Food Truck, Injures Customers
A woman sitting outside the parked truck saw the van approaching and jumped of the way. Medical personnel treated her at the scene for the scrapes and bruises she sustained in the accident.
The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News wrote that the wreck took place at around 6:55 p.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that Rolando Alvarenga Aguilar abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.
Officers found several empty cans of beer on the floorboard of the van. They also closed the taco truck which ended up with significant damage following the incident.
Authorities soon located, arrested ad booked Rolando Alvarenga Aguilar for felony hit-and-run and probation violation. The Fresno hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
