Man, 19, Killed; Man, 40, Hospitalized After Solo Collision

SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. (March 24, 2025) — A 19-year-old man was killed and another severely injured after a rollover crash Sunday on Interstate 80, near American Canyon Road, east of Vallejo in Solano County.

The solo-vehicle collision occurred on eastbound I-80 around 6 p.m. on March 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It’s unknown what led up to the collision where both men were ejected from the vehicle.

Paramedics responded and requested a helicopter that landed on the freeway to transport the men to a hospital. Unfortunately, the 19-year-old died and the injured 40-year-old man was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Investigators suspect speed was a factor in the crash, but the cause remains under investigation.

It’s unknown if alcohol and or drugs were involved or whether the men were wearing seatbelts.
