Rollover Crash on Costa Mesa 55 Freeway, Fair Drive

SUV Overturns on State Route 55 in Costa Mesa

COSTA MESA, Calif. (Dec. 29, 2023) — A rollover crash happened Friday morning on the Costa Mesa 55 Freeway, just south of Fair Drive in Costa Mesa.

The two-vehicle collision occurred in the northbound lanes of the freeway at around 6:58 a.m. on Dec. 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a silver Ford Focus and an SUV were involved. The SUV overturned and landed on its roof in the HOV and No. 1 lanes.

Paramedics from the Costa Mesa Fire Department responded to the scene to help at least one person who was injured in the crash.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
