Two Cars Overturn State Route 92 in San Mateo County
SAN FRANCISCO BAY, Calif. (August 1, 2024) — Two vehicles overturned Thursday on State Route 92 along the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge over San Francisco Bay.
The collision occurred at around 9:04 a.m. in the westbound slow lane of SR-92, just east of the bridge high rise near Foster City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials confirmed a white SUV and a black sedan overturned and were blocking the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes. Someone called 911 to report the crash and told authorities may have a short video of the collision.
Paramedics responded to help those injured and police issued a SigAlert due to traffic lanes being blocked by the vehicles and emergency responders.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the bridge and investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge.
