Man Killed in Spring Valley Pedestrian Accident
SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (Feb. 13, 2019) – Ronald Bowman, 45, of San Diego, was struck by an SUV and killed Wednesday morning as he jogged in the La Presa area of Spring Valley, police said.
The fatal crash took place about 4:25 a.m. near Jamacha Road and Darby Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Bowman was wearing dark clothing as he headed westbound in the right lane of eastbound Jamacha Road. He was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, just west of Darby Street.
The 31-year-old man driving the SUV had been traveling eastbound on Jamacha Road, police said. The driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigating into what happened.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene.
