Police ID Suspect Sought in Fatal Westlake Hit-And-Run
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 3, 2020) – Ronald Waldamar Jo-Jlux, 26, also known as Ronald Lux, is being sought after the hit-and-run death of a an elderly woman in a Westlake pedestrian accident.
The Los Angeles Police Department released a photo of the suspect and his vehicle on its website.
Jeun Chu Ham, 76, was struck and killed by a tan Toyota Corolla that police believe Ronald Waldamar Jo-Jlux was driving in this Los Angeles neighborhood.
Jeun Chu Ham was crossing Miramar Street at Union Avenue just before 6 a.m. on Nov. 23, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The Toyota Corolla reportedly struck the woman as the car was turning left onto Miramar Street. The pedestrian was dragged roughly 15 feet, the LAPD said. Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene without stopping to provide aid to the victim, police said.
Ham was transported to a hospital intensive care unit where she died the same day at about 8 p.m.
The vehicle involved was described by witnesses as a 4-door tan or a gold 2003 to 2008 Toyota Corolla. Also, the vehicle’s driver side wheels are missing its hub caps. The car may also be equipped with aftermarket black rims, the LAPD said. Police believe Ronald is living in his vehicle, but they do not know where he is.
There is a standing reward of up to $50,000 is available from the city of Los Angeles. Anyone with information that leads to the conviction of the suspect in a hit-and-run crash may apply for it.
