Hit-and-Run Driver Ronnie White, 43, in Fresno Fatal Crash Sought
FRESNO, CA (May 5, 2021) – Authorities identified Ronnie White as the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Fresno on Monday afternoon.
Police are searching for the 43-year-old man who killed a man in an accident at Pickford and Oleander avenues on May 3.
The incident began when Ronnie White was speeding west on East Oleander Avenue. At the same time, a Honda was going south on South Pickford Avenue.
Fresno police said Ronnie White then ran a stop sign at the intersection with Pickford. In the process, his black Mercedes slammed into the Honda.
Fernando Gayton Jr., 27, Killed in Crash at Pickford and Oleande
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the male driver of the Honda dead at the scene. The coroner’s office identified him as 27-year-old Fresno resident Fernando Gayton Jr.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that White abandoned his car following the collision and fled on foot. He is facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, reckless driving and driving without license.
