Rory Antoine, 61, Killed After Dump Truck Crashes Into Anaheim Apartment Building
ANAHEIM, CA (August 24, 2021) – Rory Antoine was killed after a truck crashed into an apartment building on Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim.
KTLA News and ABC 7 News identified the 61-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened when Rory Antoine was inside an apartment building on Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim. At the same time, a dump truck was going south on the 57 Freeway at the Lincoln off-ramp.
Its driver, 54-year-old Rafael Pacheco, lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. In the process, he hit the side of a Honda Civic stopped at a red light on the off-ramp.
Collision Near Lincoln Avenue and 57 Freeway
The truck went across the intersection and struck a Mercedes-Benz C240. It then drove down the side of the embankment and crashed into the wall.
CHP said the truck continued on and collided with vehicles on the street. The dump truck plowed through the apartment building Rory Antoine was in and into another complex along Sunkist Avenue.
Rory Antoine died as a result of the Anaheim crash. Rafael Pacheco obtained moderate injuries while the 69-year-old man driving the Mercedes-Benz sustained minor wounds.
Paramedics took the wounded parties to the UC Irvine Medical Center for treatment. Meanwhile, the cause of the Anaheim crash is still under investigation.
