Gilroy Woman Dies on Head-On Collision Near Old Chittenden Road
Aromas, CA (April 7, 2022) – Rosalba Gonzalez, a 57-year-old Gilroy resident, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 129.
Our sources indicated the unfortunate event took place Wednesday afternoon.
Fatal Multi-Car Crash on Highway 129 in Aromas
The KION546 News reported Gonzalez was behind the wheel of a 2016 Nissan Sentra traveling east on the freeway. When the female motorist approached the area near Old Chittenden Road, she crashed head-on into a 2014 Honda Odyssey traveling westbound. According to the article published online, it remained unclear how the two vehicles ended up into the path of each other.
Following the initial collision, a westbound 1992 Acura Integra was unable to avoid the wreckage. The Integra slammed into the mangled Odyssey.
Emergency crews arrived at the site shortly after 4 p.m. First responders found the driver of the Sentra unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the woman sadly succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene. The California Highway Patrol group identified the deceased as Rosalba Gonzalez.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the drivers of the Odyssey and Integra both survived the incident. Ambulances transported to two injured parties to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the fatal accident on Highway 129 in Aromas.
