Rose Willy Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15 in Escondido
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2020) — Rose Willy, 21, of Escondido, died in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning on the Interstate 15 Freeway in Escondido.
The crash was reported at 4:36 a.m. on Oct. 14th near Citracado Parkway and Gamble Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The young woman was riding in a silver Honda CRV driven by her 23-year-old wife. The couple entered the southbound 15 Freeway at 9th Avenue, but the driver was traveling too fast to avoid hitting the back of a Freightliner box truck. Willy suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Additionally, the 23-year-old woman did not report any injuries, nor did the 44-year-old Moreno Valley man driving the truck.
Meanwhile, police issued a SigAlert for the crash after they closed down all lanes, except for the carpool and No. 1 lane, but they reopened at 7:25 a.m.
The cause of the crash and liability are under investigation. Additionally, witnesses are encouraged to contact police.
