Roslind Harris, Sandra Jones and 2 Children Killed in Lancaster Car Crash
LANCASTER, CA (June 5, 2021) – A head-on crash killed Roslind Harris, Sandra Jones and two children on Avenue G in Lancaster.
The California Highway Patrol said the Lancaster women and the Las Vegas children died following the wreck on Friday morning.
The incident began when 62-year-old Sandra Jones was driving a 2019 Dodge Challenger west in the eastbound lane of Avenue G in Lancaster. At the same time, a 2017 Peterbilt truck was going east.
The wrong-way car then struck the big rig head-on, west of 30th Street East. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced Sandra Jones dead at the scene.
Child Critically Injured in Head-On Collision on Avenue G
Her front passenger, 59-year-old Roslind Harris, died at the Holy Cross Hospital. Medical personnel rushed three juvenile passengers of the Dodge to the Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
Two of the children, a 9-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy, soon passed away. The third young victim, a 5-year-old boy, sustained major traumatic injuries and was listed in critical condition.
CHP added that the operator of the big rig survived with minor wounds. The Antelope Valley Times and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on June 4 at around 9:09 a.m.
