ROWLAND HEIGHTS, California (September 11, 2015) — Two drivers suffered minor injuries after an unoccupied car struck them head-on earlier this month after its driver jumped out of the vehicle on Harbor Boulevard near Vantage Point, ABC News reports.
Jasmine Lacey, 22, of San Bernardino was driving her 2010 Hyundai Sonata when she suddenly slammed on her brakes, exited the moving vehicle and allowed the car to drive away on its own about 3:45 p.m. on September 1. The unoccupied vehicle continued moving down Harbor and veered across the median into oncoming traffic where two drivers were struck before it came to a stop on the shoulder of the roadway.
The entire ordeal was captured on a dashboard camera video by a driver who was behind Lacey and almost crashed into the back of the Hyundai as she stepped out of the vehicle.
Lacey was hospitalized for observation, but was not injured in the traffic incident and not charged with a crime.
