Motorcyclist Ruben Banuelos, 22, Killed in Hit-and-Run on Irvine Avenue
ORANGE COUNTY (September 23, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed after an alleged hit-and-run crash along Irvine Avenue at Newport Beach-Costa Mesa border Sunday.
The coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as 22-year-old Ruben Rodriguez Banuelos, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga.
Police said Banuelos was riding a motorcycle on Irvine Avenue when for an unknown reason he slammed into a raised center median.
According to reports by The Orange County Register and CBS Los Angeles, the rider was then ejected from his bike and into the southbound lanes as a result of the collision.

A vehicle ultimately struck the victim in the roadway. The fatal accident occurred on September 22 just before 2 a.m. between Monte Vista and Santa Isabel avenues.
Paramedics responded to the site and immediately transported the motorcyclist to Orange County Global Medical Center, where he later died.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the drive involved allegedly failed to stop and fled the scene. The suspect car was described as a black colored SUV.
