Man Run Over and Killed by Bus on Almond Street
Dos Palos, CA (May 26, 2022) – Ruben Zapien, a 36-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Almond Street.
The Merced Sun-Star News reported a farm labor bus was pulling out of the driveway at a residence in the 2500 block of Almond Street. While driving onto the roadway, the farm labor bus hit and run over the male party. The article published online mentioned the bus driver felt a bump and pulled over.
Shortly after 3:14 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the pedestrian lying on the ground. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Ruben Zapien, of Dos Palos.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver of the bus reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives continue to work to determine liability in the deadly pedestrian accident on Almond Street in Dos Palos.
