1 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on Elverta Road
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2021) – Rubin Staton, 40, died in a crash on Elverta Road near Gibson Ranch in Sacramento County.
The Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner identified the Sacramento man on its website.
The traffic accident happened about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27th between Gibson Ranch and Dominion Way, according to the CBS Sacramento and FOX 40 News.
A driver and a male passenger in a white pickup were traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Elverta Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported the vehicle veered to the right shoulder where it spun out of control. The pickup then went back onto the road and slammed into the pole.
Firefighters and paramedics responded and located Rubin Staton suffering from major injuries. Sadly, he died before they could transport him to a hospital for further treatment. Additionally, the second person suffered injuries in the crash. He is described as a man in his 20s.
The younger man was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP closed down a portion of Elverta Road following the collision to conduct an investigation.
