Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Interstate 5 Sunday
Kern County, CA (March 8, 2022) – Rudy Luna Perez, a 63-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on State Route Highway 166.
The ABC23 News reported the male party walked into traffic on the highway for an unknown reason. Subsequently, an oncoming motorist was unable to avoid and hit the pedestrian. The horrible crash took place Sunday shortly before 2:30 a.m.

Rescue teams responded to the accident scene, near the Interstate 5 Freeway. When emergency crews arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the pedestrian but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as Rudy Luna Perez.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver of the Kia stayed at the site and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 166 in Kern County.
