Rui Xai Zhen, 67, Killed in San Francisco Crash Taylor and Geary Streets
SAN FRANCISCO (March 2, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed after a traffic collision in the area of Taylor and Geary streets on Sunday morning.
The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 67-year-old Rui Xai Zhen, a resident of San Francisco.
Police said Rui Xai Zhen was hit by a pickup truck for an unknown reason at the intersection of Taylor and Geary streets in the Tenderloin neighborhood.
According to an article published by San Francisco Examiner, the incident began when a city street cleaner driving the pickup was going north on Taylor Street.

The driver then turned left onto westbound Geary Street and in the process struck the woman. She was apparently in a crosswalk at the time.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found Rui Xai Zhen lying in the roadway and suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel rushed her to San Francisco General Hospital where she later died. The fatal accident occurred on March 1 at about 7:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco Public Works confirmed that the street cleaner involved in the tragic collision worked for the department. The investigation is ongoing.
