Run Yan Yu, 70, Fatal Victim in Road Accident at 8th Street and 5th Avenue Tuesday
Oakland, CA (May 4, 2021) – 70-year-old Run Yan Yu died following a car accident in the area of East 8th Street and 5th Avenue, the Mercury News reported.
Our sources indicated a black four-door 2009 Nissan Altima collided with two other vehicles just east of Lake Merritt. The make and model of the other car involved in the crash have not been revealed thus far.
According to the news article, the force from the impact disabled the Altima in the 500 block of 8th Street. Responding emergency crews found Run Yan Yu trapped in the wreckage.

The Oakland Fire Department firefighters reportedly responded to the location and extricated the victim. After successfully pulling out Run Yan Yu from the car, paramedics performed life-saving measures to him. Sadly, the man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the other drivers involved in the unfortunate event.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate at this time the precise circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
