Two-Vehicle Collision on State Route 18 in Running Springs

RUNNING SPRINGS, Calif. (June 15, 2026) — A rollover crash involving a Jeep and a Toyota 4Runner left at least one person trapped and struggling to breathe Monday afternoon on Highway 18 in Running Springs, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch reports.

The collision was reported on June 15th around 1:28 p.m. at State Route 18 and All View Drive. Initial reports indicated a Jeep collided with a gray Toyota 4Runner, causing the SUV to overturn and land on its roof with at least one occupant still trapped inside.

Emergency dispatch traffic indicated both lanes were initially blocked following the crash, though vehicles were later able to get around the scene. CHP officers requested an expedited response from firefighters after reports that two people were trapped inside the overturned vehicle.

Authorities said one trapped party was having difficulty breathing, prompting an urgent rescue effort by fire crews and paramedics. San Bernardino County Fire personnel responded to the scene and worked to free those trapped in the wreckage.

Tow crews were called to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway as emergency responders continued their investigation.

The extent of injuries has not yet been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Motorists traveling through the mountain corridor experienced delays as crews worked to clear the scene.
