Suspect Booked Into Jail After Injury Collision Near 25th Street Friday
Merced, CA (December 17, 2021) – Police arrested 51-year-old Russell Garcia in relation with a hit-and-run car crash that occurred on G Street Friday.
According to Merced Golden Wire News, Garcia was behind the wheel of the vehicle traveling in the streets of Merced. When the vehicle approached the area near 25th Street, it collided with two or more cars. Earlier reports indicated Garcia accelerated and fled the scene following the incident.
Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck The article published online mentioned at least one person suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Meanwhile, police said they later identified and located the suspect–Russell Garcia. Officers went to the house of the man and conducted filed sobriety tests. Results showed the suspect was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Given that, authorities arrested the man on felony DUI and felony hit-and-run charges.
