Pedestrian Killed in Duarte Car Accident Las Lomas Road
DUARTE, Calif. (Dec. 20, 2018) — Ruth Coe, 75, was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday afternoon in a collision on Las Lomas Road, according to local news sources.
The crash took place at 5:24 p.m. at Calle Martos, near the Rancho Duarte Golf Course. There were few details provided in the report about what happened, but Coe was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:34 p.m.
A full investigation into this collision is underway by police.

At this time, it is unknown what led to this collision. Typically, pedestrians have the right-of-way in a marked or unmarked crosswalk. Police will seek to find out how fast the driver was traveling, whether distractions were a factor or drugs and or alcohol.
